Aging Forward Foreword INDIES FinalistBaltimore, MD (March 20, 2024) — Health Professions Press is excited to announce that its book, Aging Forward: A New Path for Health, Technology, and Community has been named a finalist in Foreword Reviews 2023 INDIES Book of the Year Awards. Written by David Dunkelman and Martha Dunkelman, this groundbreaking book confronts the inconvenient reality of the shortfalls of our current care delivery systems in a world with more older adults than ever before, and provides a vision for the future with achievable solutions.

Foreword Reviews is a platform dedicated to discovering, reviewing, and sharing works from university and independent publishers. This year’s INDIES Book of the Year awards saw over 2,400 entries spanning 55 genres submitted for consideration. Selected by Foreword’s editorial team, the Finalists will be reviewed by a team of librarians and bookseller judges nationwide.

“I am deeply impressed by the scope and range of books submitted this year,” said Christopher Nesbit, INDIES Award Director. “Each Finalist represents a significant contribution to the literary landscape and underscores the crucial role that independent authors and publishers play, ensuring a steady flow of diverse and thought-provoking content. The INDIES not only honors outstanding literary achievements but also helps to qualify and connect these exceptional books with librarians and booksellers alike.”

“HPP is honored to be considered alongside so many important books that focus on current issues, findings, and trends in healthy living,” shares Mary Magnus, Director of Publications at Health Professions Press. “Aging Forward has the potential to revolutionize how older adults live and receive care. Completely overhauling America’s aging services model can seem daunting,” she notes. “But the beauty of Aging Forward is the practical solutions and undercurrent of hope—change is possible, and this book demonstrates exactly how we get there.”

Winners in each genre, along with the Editor’s Choice Prize winners and Forewords Indie Publisher of the Year, will be announced in June 2024. You can view a complete list of finalists here.
