An Innovative Approach to Dining for People with Dementia

Produced by Alzheimer's Resource Center of Connecticut, Inc.

The Alzheimer's Resource Center

The Alzheimer's Resource Center is a specialized source of research, information and health care that is changing the culture of caring for people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementia. Since 1990, the Resource Center has done pioneering work studying dementia and caring for people with Alzheimer's disease.  Recognized as a five-star organization by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, the Center offers education training and consulting services  that share the Center's innovative approaches with other dementia care professionals and organizations. An array of community services, including adult day and early memory loss programs, provide invaluable support to families caring at home for a relative with dementia.  When a family member needs residential care, the Center offers 13 apartments in an Assisted Living Community, and four stage-specific Skilled Nursing Care Communities as well as end-of life care for 120 individuals.   With compassion, empathy and 20 years of expertise in dementia care, the Center promotes a new standard of enlightened dementia care.
