> Seminar Description

Your assisted living facility is most likely home to many people who have or will develop dementia. Help your staff better accommodate these residents with this informative seminar presented by Alzheimer’s expert Robyn Yale.

Ms. Yale introduces participants to the concept of memory loss support groups and details the many benefits they provide for residents, family members, and staff. Clinical and administrative guidelines for implementing support groups will be presented, including

  • selecting appropriate participants
  • anticipating group topics and interactions
  • managing unique group dynamics
  • applying specific facilitation techniques.

This hands-on seminar explores the issues that are unique to individuals with memory loss in assisted living, including loss of independence and coping with transitions between levels of care. Memory loss support groups can enhance quality of life, as well as the ability of facilities to provide specialized care.

> Bonus!
