Falling is one of the leading causes of accidental injury and death among older adults. If you’re concerned about preventing falls in your facility or community, this seminar can help. Presented by one of the foremost experts on fall prevention and management, this seminar will examine organizational components and clinical processes of effective fall prevention.

Participants will learn to

  • Assess and monitor fall risk factors, including illnesses, medications, the environment, and changes in vision and/or gait
  • Plan care based on fall risk factors
  • Use effective fall prevention methods, such as exercise, sturdy footwear, and environmental modifications
  • Use fall prevention technology, such as low beds, exit alarms, hip protectors, durable medical equipment, and canes/walkers
  • Assess post-fall situations
  • Measure the outcomes of fall prevention programs.
