 Lydia Burdick, M.A.


Lydia Burdick, M.A., was a caregiver for both her aging parents. Her mother had Alzheimer’s disease and her father had other progressively debilitating diseases. In the course of caring for her mother, Lydia conceived of and wrote a read-aloud book for her mother. The Sunshine on My Face:  A Read-Aloud Book for Memory-Challenged Adults is the first book written specifically for memory-challenged adults to read with a companion. It is the first in a series of Two-Lap Books™.


Lydia has been a career transition consultant with DBM, a global human capital management services firm, since 1993. She has designed, customized and delivered 1–3 day training programs for DBM’s consultants and clients, nationwide. She has consulted individually with hundreds of people in career transition.

Lydia earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Practices (Psychology) from the University of Hartford. She has studied extensively with leading personal growth teachers, completing many programs with The Landmark Forum, Paul Lowe (author of In Each Moment) and More University. Lydia lives in New York, New York.
