How It Works

You host the seminar and HPP authors will come to your organization to provide training customized for your needs. Experienced speakers will teach participants effective practices for long-term care settings, guide them through an activity program, or help them utilize proven management strategies.

About the Seminars

Customization: You determine the venue for the seminar and the professional development priorities for the participants.

Logistics: After you contact HPP about arranging the seminar, we share your request with the author and make recommendations that will help you meet the needs of your staff. HPP then coordinates with the author’s schedule to find a date that works for both of you. (Please note that we cannot guarantee an author’s availability on a specific date, so be sure to plan your seminar well in advance.)

Scope: HPP authors develop their seminars directly around the content of their books, the research behind their work, and their experiences in the field. Our growing list of seminars features the HPP products for which seminars are available as well as links to descriptions of typical seminars and speaker bios. (Please complete the on-line form to request more information on a particular topic.)

Length: Seminars can range from a few hours to a few days, depending on the subject and the needs of your staff.

Cost: The seminar fees vary depending on the seminar subject, the length of the seminar, and the number of participants. The total cost for your organization will include the speaker fee, agent fee, and travel expenses, as well as the cost of any books purchased in conjunction with the seminar. Special discounts apply to books ordered in connection with a seminar.
