Sweepstakes Rules
This sweepstakes begins on January 5, 2010, and ends on May 24, 2010. This sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law.
1. HOW TO ENTER: No purchase is required to enter or win. The first 10 people to register for the Best Friends Approach Institute, June 7-8, 2010, are automatically entered for a chance to win the Alzheimer's Library. You may also enter by writing your name, mailing address, daytime telephone number, and e-mail address on a postcard or letter and mail it to Health Professions Press, Alzheimer's Library Giveaway, P.O. Box 10624, Baltimore, MD, 21285. In order to be eligible, all entries must be received by May 24, 2010. Each person may enter only once.
2. ELIGIBILITY: This sweepstakes is open to all legal residents
of the U.S. residing in the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, Hawaii,
and the District of Columbia, 18 years or older. Employees and their
families, subcontractors, and authors of Health Professions Press
are not eligible. The qualifications and eligibility of any participant
are at the sole discretion of Health Professions Press and are final.
3. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS:
One winner will be selected in a random drawing held at Health Professions Press’s offices on June 1, 2010. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winner will be notified in person at the Best Friends Approach Institute if he or she is present or by e-mail message to the address used on his or her registration form within 5 business days after the conclusion of the Institute.
The winners' names and states of residence will be posted at www.healthpropress.com June 2, 2010, through August 4, 2010. This information can also be obtained by writing to Health Professions Press, Alzheimer’s Library Giveaway, P.O. Box 10624, Baltimore, MD 21285-0624 after June 1, 2010.
4. PRIZES: The winner will receive one Alzheimer’s Library of four books (total retail value of U.S. $100.00), which includes: Happy New Year to You: A Read-Aloud Book for Memory-Challenged Adults, by Lydia Burdick, M.A.; Let’s Look Together: An Interactive Picture Book for People with Memory Loss, by Rae-Lynn Cebul Ziegler; Speaking Your Mind: What It's Like to Have Alzheimer's, Revised Edition, by Lisa Snyder, MSW, LCSW; and Strengthen Your Mind: Activities for People Concerned About Early Memory Loss, Volume One, by Kristin Einberger and Janelle Sellick, M.S. The winner should allow 4 to 6 weeks from notification for delivery of the prizes, and prizes will be shipped at no cost to the winners by the most economical shipping method. All prizes are nontransferable and are not redeemable for cash.
5. PRIVACY DISCLOSURE: Sweepstakes entrants are supplying personally
identifying information (e.g., name, address) to Health Professions
Press by registering for the Best Friends Approach Institute.
Participation in this sweepstakes is completely voluntary, and the
entrant therefore has a choice whether to disclose his or her information.
Sweepstakes entrants' e-mail addresses will be used only for the purposes
of communicating about participation in the Institutes or about this
sweepstakes unless the registrant elects to receive promotional e-mail
from Health Professions Press. Sweepstakes entrants may receive catalogs
by postal mail or telephone calls from Health Professions Press. To

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: If by reason of a printing or other
error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these
official rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be
included in a random drawing to award the advertised number of prizes.
No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded. Health
Professions Press reserves the right to disqualify any person who
tampers with the entry process or the operation of the web site or
who is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the
right to cancel, terminate, or modify any contest not capable of completion
as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorized intervention, or technical failures of any sort. By entering
the sweepstakes, each sweepstakes entrant assumes, and agrees to be
solely responsible for, all liabilities and costs arising out of his/her
participation in the sweepstakes and releases Health Professions Press
and its directors, employees, and subcontractors from the same. Income
and other taxes (if any) are the responsibility of the winner. Health
Professions Press is not liable for lost, late, delayed, damaged,
incomplete, illegible, or misdirected contest entries of any kind,
including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware,
or software, whether originating with the sweepstakes entrant or Health
Professions Press.
7. CONSTRUCTION: All issues and questions concerning the construction,
validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Sweepstakes
Rules, or the rights and obligations of any entrants and Health Professions
Press, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the
laws of the state of Maryland, without giving effect to any choice
of laws or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the
application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Maryland. In
the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise
unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their
terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provisions were not contained
therein.
